Ellen Stewart, the establisher of the group, has made an adaptation of 'The Trojan Woman', the famous performance of Andrei Serban.
After 41 years of their activity, La MaMa is one of most important centres of experimental theatre in the world. Their mission is to develope, support, and present exceptional creations, representing various nations and cultures.
Ellen Stewart is also recognized as an ambasador of polish theatre in America, inviting to New York such artists as Grotowski, Kantor, Theatre 'Gardzienice'.
