OUTBUILDING

A construction belonging of the palace complex composed of two parts: eastern (older - the late 17th c) and western. In 1966 fire completely destroyed the lower part of it, down to its foundations, and the outbuilding was gradually falling into ruin, resulting from a lack of any interest in protecting and restoring it.

thethe the ruined outbuilding

On the decision of the Piaski Commune issued on December 12, 1989 the outbuilding was given to the Centre for Theatre Practices.
The building was renovated. The once completely devastated western part was transformed into a theatre hall, used for rehearsals and performances, symposia, workshops and Gatherings. It also accommodates dressing rooms and functional domestic areas. In the attic there is a room for the students of the Academy for Theatre Practices to stay. The older part of the outbuilding is used for the theatre archive including a computer centre, video and film library.

The oubuilding raised from ruins is our most beautiful piece of art.

Tiles Room

It is located on the ground floor of the outbuilding, left of the main entrance. Conservation works carried by Gardzienice resulted in reconstructing this valuable interior, with the walls covered in the Delft tiles brought here in the 17th c. These white and blue tiles were painted using underglaze technique.
